Landscape Art
The older I get, the more it feels like incredible luck to be born and raised in Pacific Northwest. Especially since, as a kid, my family wasn't into the outdoors at all really. It took a six week stint with Northwest Youth Corps in high school to discover my love of hiking and the outdoors in general. I vividly remember this moment, cresting a ridge high up in the Mt. Baker Wilderness. A sudden view of this epic landscape unfolding around me, wildflowers in bloom, a glittering river winding through the bottom of a valley. Vastness of scale. Forest as far as the eyes could see, layers of green turning into blue in the distance. It was one of those turning points in life you hear people talking about, where a part of my brain lit up in recognition. THIS. This is amazing. This is me. This is something I want to experience over and over again. Exploration, solitude, the payoff after hours of climbing upwards. When I'm not hiking, I thoroughly enjoy expressing my love of the views and beautiful places I've experienced through art. Landscape art is also available by commission! If you have a favorite photo from an epic adventure or a place that is special to your heart, I would thoroughly enjoy turning it into a work of art. See my commissions page for more info.
